I'm on the program committee for this. While I was not involved in crafting the CFP, it's clear that IFIP is trying to move toward a more international and less nationalistic history of computing, with more social history and policy studies and less focus on hardware milestones. This is a something to be encouraged. There's quite a range of topics in the CFP, and anyone who's interested can probably find an angle that fits their research, or can participate in a roundtable session. I hope to see many of you there. best, Janet Dr. Janet Abbate Associate Professor, Science & Technology in Society Co-director, National Capital Region STS program Virginia Tech www.sts.vt.edu/ncr www.linkedin.com/groups/STS-Virginia-Tech-4565055 www.facebook.com/VirginiaTechSTS On Aug 17, 2015, at 3:45 49AM, Petri Paju wrote:
All,
Here’s a possibly interesting conference in New York in May 2016, by the IFIP IT history group, focusing on internationalism in computing related history.
Best wishes, Petri
