We are pleased to announce that CBI's Archivist, R. Arvid Nelsen, has been elected as Vice-Chair -- and hence Chair-Elect -- of the ALA-affiliated Rare Books and Manuscripts Section. The news is officially released here <http://www.new.rbms.info/?q=node/98>

RBMS has for fifty years played a leading international role in the "care and keeping" of printed materials of all types. Recently, RBMS is taking an increasingly active role in digital archiving practices and policies. CBI as well as the history of computing community benefits greatly from this exposure and visibility. <http://www.new.rbms.info/?q=node/5>

Our hearty congrats to Arvid!

Best, Tom
