The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, invites applications for a one-year temporary visiting faculty position beginning late August, 2011, with specialty in history of technology.  Candidates should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in Technology in American Culture (HSCI 3331) and Ethics in Science and Technology (HSCI 3401), plus an advanced course or graduate seminar in the history of technology that would complement the existing course schedule (possibilities include the environment, race, Asia, or Islam: see www.hstm.umn.edu).  Candidates would also be expected to be an active member of the HSTM program and provide advice to graduate students in the history of technology.  All requirements for the Ph.D. must be completed by August 1, 2011.  The competitive salary includes full benefits.
