Dear Ulf, dear all, As some of you may know, the Z4 ended up its operational existence on the French side of the Rhine, when the Zurich ETH sold it in 1955 to the Institut des recherches techniques in Saint-Louis (ISL), a military lab devoted to R&D on accoustics and shock waves. I don't know if Konrad Zuse himself came to Saint-Louis, but the French and German scientists working at ISL participated regularly in the meetings of the Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik (GAMM). I can enquire whether ISL kept archives from K. Zuse. He mentioned it without much detail to me when we met in 1990.
