SIGCIS Digital Humanities Roundtable Proposal
Dear all, I’d like to organize a roundtable for the SIGCIS 2015 workshop that addresses how our community can play a larger role in the development of the Digital Humanities, especially as a foundation for greater historical and technical understanding of the computing and information systems that make DH possible(a trait often lacking in many DH projects). If you would like to participate please drop me a line within the next week, so that I can organize a proper submission by the June 30th deadline. Cheers Kimon P.S. Dear Kimon, I'm afraid I will not be at SHOT or SIGCIS 2015, but I just wanted to pipe up to say I applaud this suggestion. At SHOT 2014 in Dearborn there were several conversations, after the successful THATCAMP there, about what seemed like a relative dearth of DH and digital history projects at SHOT. Cross-pollinating DH/digital history methods with informed history of digital technology is a really valuable endeavor - in both directions.
