Fenwick,

Jeff is right, you will find a number of political simulation titles in the Cabrinety Collection.  The finding aid will help you to determine which titles are of interest.  Please note that while we are under shelter-in-place in California, we do not have access to the physical media such as boxed games. At this time, we do not know when limited access will be available.

However, we have pulled data off a number of titles in the collections (disk images plus photographic images of box covers, inserts, manuals, etc.).  We might be able to provide access to those images. Just let me know when you have determined which titles are of interest, and I will work with my colleagues here at Stanford to see if/when we can provide access to those titles.

Stanford has a collection that might have some relevant stuff, if not Micro Globus or On the Campaign Trail. It's the Cabrinety Collection in the History of Microcomputing, finding aid here: http://pdf.oac.cdlib.org/pdf/stanford/mss/m0997.pdf

 

I haven't used this collection, but a quick glance at the aid pulls up, for instance, Presidential Campaign 1982 by Timeworks and Sunrise Software's Campaign '84.

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions of links to older political simulations running on Dos. I am particularly interested in two games, On the Campaign Trail and Micro Globus both from the 1980s. I have looked into the Internet Archive and some library catologs with limited success. I guess I am looking for recommendations for other software archives. Any help is appreciated.
