Just a note to let those interested know about a few Smithsonian fellowship programs, as application dates approach. In addition to the fellowship program described there, there is one for short term visits to the collections sponsored by the Lemelson Center. It is described at http://invention.smithsonian.org/resources/research_fellowships.aspx, although details for 2015 are not yet posted.
