Depending on what you mean by embodied practices, my colleague Ellen Abrams just finished a great dissertation on masculinity and American mathematics in the first half of the 20th c. that fits this bill. See her article “An Inalienable Prerogative of a Liberated Spirit: Postulating American Mathematics.” British Journal for the History of Mathematics (2020): 1-21.
