As part of a continuing effort to make space in the reference area, I’ve been sending out copies of old SI publications as requested. More specifically, in 1985, the Smithsonian Institution Press published a monograph by Emilie Savage-Smith
entitled Islamicate Celestial Globes: Their History, Construction, and Use. The publication was distributed free of charge to appropriate libraries and scholars. It has been digitized, and is now available at
Islamicate Celestial Globes: Their History, Construction, and Use (si.edu). At the same time, roughly a dozen copies are still available for distribution. Should someone or their institution wish to
have one, I request a message with the appropriate mailing address. There are also smaller numbers of the following publications available:
