It made me recall that in WWII, the US Army Signal Corps was responsible for nearly all of the Army’s information technology (ENIAC, famously, was supported the Army’s Ordnance Ballistic Proving Ground at Aberdeen, MD). This included everything from pigeons to typewriters to radar and cyrptography.<br>
