Thanks for sharing this interesting article.  This software tool is a good
example of what happens when something works well. Microsoft Word, Google
(at least so far), CDs are other examples.  Why change when what you have
works "good enough" for most people?  Second, it was sufficiently promoted
(marketed) to push to the side alternatives.  For those of us writing
articles and books, every publisher requires use of Word and JPEGS.
