Dear Bill, dear Troy, respected moderators,
Thanks for this information, and happy 2022 to all (after two weeks of experience, we may take the risk of sending optimistic wishes…)
Best,
Pierre

Hi all,

It’s my pleasure to announce that from now until March, your moderators on the SIG-CIS mailing list will be Bill and me. Bill is professor emeritus from both Eastern Michigan University and Concordia University, Ann Arbor and you may already know him. For those that don’t know me, I am a new lecturer in computer science at Swansea University and in my new role I am trying to find the time to work out what my research interests will be from now on :-)

Let me take this opportunity to remind you that the SIGCIS group is committed to supporting our diverse membership. Use of the mailing list is subject to the [ https://www.sigcis.org/aup | Acceptable Use Policy ] and we expect mailing list members to broadly share our [ https://www.sigcis.org/about_values | Community Values ] .

Moderating seems to largely entail rejecting spam messages behind the scenes, but in situations where the Acceptable Use Policy is breached we may step in. If you have any concerns about conversation on the list that seems not to have come to our attention, please feel free to email us directly.

Best,

Dr. Troy Kaighin Astarte (they/them)

Lecturer, Computer Science
Swansea University

For students: my office hours are Monday, 14–1500 and Wednesday, 10–1100.

Every email has a cost to the climate. Please think before sending short emails.
