Here comes the 7th Annual NYCDH Week!
The NYCDH <http://nycdh.org/> Steering Committee is happy to announce the 7th AnnualNYCDH Week, February 7-11, 2021 <https://nycdh.org/dhweek/>. Like last year this year’s format is fully online and will continue to do what it has done for the past six years: Bring together individuals across the region who are interested in digital humanities. At NYCDH Week, you can learn new techniques and skills, discover and share DH projects from across the city, and connect with a vibrant and diverse community of scholars and practitioners.

Join us for the Kickoff Event!

This year’s NYCDH Week theme is Support, as we build off of last year’s Care/Repair to show how a DH community can come together to support one another. While COVID still impacts us on a daily basis, and much of the focus of this DH Week will be on how to support one another in times of crisis, we also look to think beyond the pandemic and how we can reach out, and share our experiences, specialties, and sense of togetherness on a regular basis.

This intention will come through in the roundtable we have planned for the kickoff event and through the annual announcement and presentation of the NYCDH Graduate Student Awards. In addition, we have added a series of support workshops that will provide our community with skills beyond the technical and academic realm, including project management, proposal and grant development, and early career development. Stay tuned for details about those in a later email.

Volunteer to teach a virtual workshop at NYCDH Week!

Graduate students, librarians, faculty, museum workers, independent scholars, tech companies and others are all invited to become part of NYCDH Week's series of wide-ranging workshops. Workshops are made possible by members of the NYCDH community who volunteer their time to teach and help organize each session. So, let us know if you want to teach a workshop or wait until the workshops are announced and join us for a session. Workshops are offered across the city and they are FREE and open to everyone.

To sign up to teach a workshop please use this form <https://forms.gle/Ynw4WABdhL3oLRnW9>. Registration to attend a workshop will be opened soon!

Last year NYCDH Week included 36 workshops and demos with more than 1500 registrants. For a list of those workshops, see the DH Week website <https://nycdh.org/dhweek/sessions-2021/>.

Please feel free to share this email widely as the virtual nature of this year’s event allow us to welcome and host participants from far beyond our local NYC community and we welcome national and international participation!

For more information, visit our website <https://nycdh.org/dhweek/>. You can also email nycdh at gmail.com <mailto:nycdh at gmail.com>.

We hope to see you there! And remember to join NYCDH <https://nycdh.org/create-an-account/> if you haven’t yet!
