Bill Aspray has published two other books this fall that may be of interest
to you that he and I co-authored. Both deal with the role of fake news in
American history back to the 1700s, urban legends and how people used the
Internet to scrutinize fake facts and rumors from 1990 to 2015. They can
be considered as one large research project published in two parts:

*Fake News Nation: The Long History of Lies and Misinterpretations *(Rowman
& Littlefield, 2019, 312 pp) and *From Urban Legends to Political
Fact-Checking: Online Scrutiny in America, 1990-2015 *(Springer-Verlag,
2019, 156 pp).
