You don’t hear much about the Ada programming language, but I believe a lot of avionics computers are programmed in Ada.

The Washington Post has reported that Hillary Clinton's pre-election confidence was in part based on her campaign's use of a bespoke psephological algorithm, named after Ada Lovelace. Perhaps, as an episode in the history of information, this one writes itself. Nonetheless, I bet there are people on this list who have some interesting things to say about it, and if so, I for one would certainly like to hear.
