Dave, I am currently Visiting Fellow at the Reuter Institute for the Study
of Journalism at Oxford University. I was a Reuter Fellow in 1990 and I am
back to look at the tech we used then, and how it impacted on our
news-gathering. We were an international group and take-up of tech was much
more varied than it is now. Myself, I started at hot-metal publication in
UK in the the 70s, then web-offset litho (I think it was called that) then
TV - typewriters to computers - and now I freelance for BBC radio, and its
digital sites. I'll be pulling my Reuter research together from now til
early summer, but contact me soonest if you'd like to.
