You need to look at
C. West Churchman's book
1971, *The Design of Inquiring Systems, Basic Concepts of Systems and
Organizations*, Basic Books, New York.
It looks at information systems from the perspective of all the major
philosophers, leibnitz, Lock, Kant, Singer
